AAHO has established a Nursing and Midwifery Council and actively collaborates with national councils in Afghanistan, the Netherlands, and other partner countries. The primary functions of this council include:

• Safeguarding the health and well-being of underserved and vulnerable populations.

• Setting and upholding high standards in nursing and midwifery education, training, conduct, and performance to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services—particularly in Afghanistan.

• Promoting continuous professional development to ensure nurses and midwives maintain updated skills and adhere to ethical and professional standards in every country where AAHO operates.

• Implementing transparent and fair procedures for reviewing cases involving professional misconduct or incompetence among nurses and midwives.
