Education & Capacity Building Program
AAHO is designing an education and participation pilot for people in the Netherlands, with initial attention to refugees, migrants, and other underserved communities. Proposed activities include information sessions, mentoring, skills workshops, and referral to existing Dutch education and scholarship resources.
Part of AAHO — a Netherlands-based humanitarian organization in its setup and pilot phase.
Status: program design and partner consultation. No scholarships are currently awarded and no education funds are currently transferred outside the Netherlands. Details of any approved pilot will be published after agreements, safeguarding arrangements, budgets, and evaluation measures are complete.
Why education pathways
still need support
Refugees, migrants, and other underserved communities in the Netherlands often face barriers to education and participation — including language gaps, limited information about available pathways, and difficulty navigating existing Dutch systems.
These challenges can interrupt learning, delay skills development, and make it harder to connect with mentoring or formal education opportunities that already exist.
AAHO is designing a pilot that focuses on practical orientation, mentoring, and clear referral to existing Dutch education and scholarship resources — not on awarding scholarships or transferring education funds abroad.
Education and participation support should be accessible, transparent, and grounded in the Netherlands.
Our approach
AAHO is designing an education and participation pilot for people in the Netherlands. The work is currently in program design and partner consultation.
Proposed activities include information sessions, mentoring, skills workshops, and referral to existing Dutch education and scholarship resources.
We focus on clear, responsible support that helps people find and use pathways that already exist — without claiming active scholarship awards or overseas education funding.
Any approved pilot will be published only after agreements, safeguarding arrangements, budgets, and evaluation measures are complete.
WHAT MAKES AAHO DIFFERENT
AAHO’s proposed approach is shaped by lived experience of migration and displacement, combined with professional input and collaboration with Dutch community partners. We are developing culturally responsive pilots that place dignity, safeguarding, measurable objectives, and transparent governance at the centre.

Designed for people
in the Netherlands
Initial attention is on refugees, migrants, and other underserved communities living in the Netherlands.
The pilot is intended to help people find orientation, mentoring, and skills support — and to be referred to education and scholarship resources that already exist in the Dutch system.
What this pilot is designed to offer:
- Information sessions and clear guidance
- Mentoring and skills workshops
- Referral to existing Dutch education resources
No scholarships are currently awarded, and no education funds are transferred outside the Netherlands.
